Privacy policy

This policy explains how Wormhole Logistics Pty Ltd handles personal information, in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles. It covers this website, our delivery operations in every state we run in, and our analytics services.

What we collect

For delivery recipients: name, delivery address, contact details supplied by the sender, and proof-of-delivery photographs and timestamps. For business contacts: name, role, email, phone and the content of your enquiry. For job applicants: the information in your application, licence details and the outcome of a police check. For website visitors: aggregate, non-identifying usage statistics only.

Why we collect it

We collect personal information only where it is reasonably necessary for our functions:

  • To deliver parcels and prove that a delivery occurred.
  • To respond to an enquiry and provide a quote or a service.
  • To assess a job application and meet our screening obligations.
  • To meet legal obligations, including work health and safety and Chain of Responsibility requirements.

Client data in our analytics services

Where we build or operate a BI platform, we process operational data belonging to our client under that client’s instructions. We do not use one client’s identifiable data for another client, including where that client competes with our own delivery operation. Benchmark figures are drawn from depots we operate ourselves and from aggregated, de-identified data where clients have agreed to contribute; any client may opt out of the benchmark pool.

Disclosure

We disclose personal information to the sender of a parcel, to service providers who help us operate (such as cloud hosting and payroll providers), and to regulators or law enforcement where we are legally required to. We do not sell personal information. Some service providers store data outside Australia; where they do, we take reasonable steps to ensure comparable protection.

Storage, security and retention

Data is held in access-controlled systems with encryption in transit and at rest. Proof-of-delivery records are retained for twelve months. Applicant records are retained for twelve months unless you ask us to remove them sooner. Client operational data is retained for the term of the engagement and deleted or returned on request afterwards.

Your rights

You may ask for access to the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it where we are not required to keep it. Email us and we will respond within thirty days. There is no charge for a reasonable request.

Cookies and analytics

This website sets no advertising or tracking cookies and embeds no third-party trackers. Fonts are served from our own domain rather than a third party. If we add privacy-respecting, aggregate traffic measurement in future, this policy will be updated before it goes live.

Complaints

If you believe we have mishandled your personal information, contact us first and we will investigate and respond in writing. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
